Just Another Day

I haven't really done much since my last post, so I apologize in advance if this one is boring!

For the most part, that last week has mostly been about doing homework.  Now that midterms are over, it is now time here to begin thinking about final papers and projects.  In other words, it's time to get serious!  Luckily I have a few things to distract me and keep me from getting in too deep!  I went home this past weekend to spend some time with my family and then on Sunday night we had a cheerleading stunt clinic!  It was super intense and a lot of hard work but we have really improved on the cool things that our squad can do! (which is especially good right now since our two biggest rival games are coming up in the next couple weeks: Edinboro and Gannon!).

Other than new excitement (and soreness) from cheerleading, I also have my 21st birthday to look forward to in 3 weeks, then Valentine's Day, and it's officially only 30 days until Spring Break!  Until those things though, I just need to write papers and finish products so I don't get behind or too stressed out!

Here's to hoping I can keep treading water and survive 'til Spring Break!

A Nice, Looooong Weekend!

As many of you probably know, this past Monday was Martin Luther King Day.  While it is a day recognized for a great man in our country's history, it really only means ONE thing for a college student....a day OFF!!  This past weekend was a much needed break from classes, especially after jumping RIGHT back in a couple weeks ago after Christmas break!  Lots of fun things went on at the 'Hurst this weekend!

On Friday night, a bunch of our friends got together for a rousing game of Apples to Apples, probably one of the best games for a huge group to play.  Our living room in our house was packed full with friends and fun and later that night my boyfriend got here to stay the weekend with me!  He brought me food from home, which is always a wonderful break from Egan Cafeteria, or cooking for yourself!

Saturday was busyyyyy for me!  Even though all I really wanted to do was sleep in, I had to get up and get ready to cheer for the men's and women's basketball games!  We played California University and our teams put up a tough fight.  Unfortunately, the women lost, but the men put on a really exciting and close game where we pulled through in the last few minutes.  It was definately one that kept you on your toes!  That night, I went with my boyfriend and a few roommates to a men's hockey game.  Even though it is FREEEZZINGGGG in the ice rink, it was totally worth it to see our team win by one goal at the very end of the game!  A good weekend for Mercyhurst men!

The rest of the weekend I spent relaxing, having fun, and hanging out with my roommates and friends.  Of course, on Monday I had to jump back in to my coursework, but the weekend was SO fun that it was totally worth it!  And luckily, this week has gone by VERY fast even though it has been busy with homework, meetings, and cheerleading.  Tomorrow, I am going home for the weekend and I am REALLY looking forward to spending time with the people I love the most!

Busy Little Bee

So I haven't posted in a week because I have been running around like a mad woman!

Last weekend I had FOUR games to cheer at!  On Saturday my parents came to the games and then took me out to dinner.  Even though I had only been back form break for a week, it was NICE to see them and get some food off campus!  And after my games, I had to study study study because this week was midterm week!  (NEVER fun!)

Luckily, my first midterm was today and I think I did really well.  It was for History of the American West.  I love the class and the professor but he gives VERY hard tests!  The study guide he gave us was three pages chocked full of facts, people, places, events...and of course we had to know everything we could fit in our brains!  But, in the end my week of studying paid off because I feel really good about it!  When you get to college, don't blow off studying, even though it is VERY tempting!  It really does help!

Besides the dread of midterms, this week has been a VERY good one.  On Tuesday night my best friend from home came to visit me because her school is still on winter break.  It was SO nice and SO fun to see and hang out with her, especially since I didn't see her much over Christmas Break because she went on vacation with her family.  And to make it even better, my boyfriend is coming to visit tomorrrow night for the entire three day weekend!  I can't wait!

Well, hopefully this weekend is as much fun as I hope it will be!  Until next time...

New Year, New Adventures!

I can't believe it is 2011!  One more year closer to graduation and starting life in the real world!  It goes by so quickly!

We just returned for a WONDERFUL two week Christmas break and I must admit, I was NOT really looking forward to coming back to school!  I really enjoyed my time with my family and friends at home!  We had a FULLLLL house for Christmas!  There was my mom, dad, and myself (the usual crowd), PLUS my sister, her husband, and two kids, my brother and his wife, and his wife's mom!  Also, there were five dogs running around because everyone brought their pets!  It was busy, crazy, and very very fun!  Like I said, I was VERY sad to see it end!

Now I am back in the groove of things at good ol' Merychurst.  The first week back is usually really stressful because you have to get out of vacation mentality and jump RIGHT back in where we left off in December with classes and course work.  So far, I have survived!

The weather has actually been pretty mild and today is the first day it has really snowed since we have been back.  Its much easier to walk to calls when not surrounded by a foot of snow!  Luckily it continues to be a mild winter!

I have a lot of reading to do for classes tonight, so I am gonna jump into that now!
